Description
The Periodic Classification of Elements is the organization of chemical elements based on their properties and atomic structure. It arranges elements in rows (periods) and columns (groups) in a periodic table, with elements in the same group sharing similar chemical properties. The modern periodic table is based on increasing atomic number, and it helps predict the behavior of elements, their compounds, and their interactions. This classification system was first developed by Dmitri Mendeleev in the 19th century and has since been refined to include the discovery of new elements and the understanding of atomic theory.
